writing stats: novella 1
Follow along as I write my first novella... in eight days.
It's not an exaggeration—this stats post is the main reason I started the web site: I wanted a singular and consistent place online where I could let my readers follow my writing journey.
I already have 4,733 words written for this novella, so I have another 35,223 to go. I'm using dictation to collapse my first draft's creation, and after a few days of tests, I'm confident in setting a public goal to finish my novella's first draft in only 8 days, or by February 5.
The most I've ever written in a single day is 6,000 words, so this is ambitious for me. After last week's testing of MacWhisper and understanding how to create an outline for dictation, I think I can beat my 6,000 words record in only a few hours and without subjecting myself to carpel tunnel syndrome. I spent most of Tuesday working on the outline for novella 1, so I'm finally ready to turn up the volume.
